On 6th-8th December, Ulaanbaatar Mayor E.Bat-Uul visited Budapest at the invitation of Budapest Mayor Istvan Tarlos. The visit was made in the framework of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Hungary.
During the visit, the mayors of the two cities signed an updated version of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ulaanbaatar and Budapest, in accordance with which there will be joint, co-operation in green urban planning and planting frost resistant trees. In addition 10 Mongolian urban planning experts will study in Hungary under a Government grant. It has been agreed that mutual “Culture Days” will also be organized.
According to the Mongolian- Hungarian Governmental Commission, in the period up to 2030, the two sides will co-operate to develop the “Biocombinat” Region. This will be an overspill town based on agriculture. Also, Mongolia and Hungary will exchange experiences on purifying drinking water. In this connection, drinking water experts from Hungary will visit and work in Mongolia, in early 2016.
