The President of Mongolia is participating in the 46th World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos in Switzerland.
In 2013, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded a memorandum with the WEF regarding conducting research on the directions of the Mongolian economy. In the framework of the memorandum a round table discussion entitled “Strategical Agreement of the Future Mongolian Development” was held in Ulaanbaatar. The 2014 WEF conference discussed the research report findings.
During this year’s forum, the President is attending various meetings, including: “The Lack of World Water: Intensifying the World Water Projects”, “Mining, Metallurgy: Policy Prospects”, and “Orientation of 2016: World Leaders’ Meeting”. Also, President Elbegdorj will have the bi-lateral meeting with Swiss President Johann Schneider.
Yesterday, President Elbegdorj had an official meeting with WEF founder Dr Klaus Schwab. During the meeting, both sides discussed co-operation, and the organization of Eastern Asian Economical Forums in Ulaanbaatar. Also, Dr Klaus Schwab announced that he intends to make an official visit to Mongolia, in May 2017.
